I've owned/used the Vixia HF10 for about a month now. I am very please with it's usability and features with exception of the following.

1. The camera has to be plugged into external power source in order to transfer files to the computer -- regardless if the battery is fully charged. I previously owned a Sony camcorder (Hi8 tape) which recommended having camera plugged in but it was NOT mandatory. This is a huge disappointment because it removes the option of portability -- being able to work in the field.

2. Audio for indoor use is great. But fo outdoor use, the wind noise is HORRIBLE. You can try to reduce the Mic level but then you lose everything else along with it. The camera should have a setting for shooting outdoors or include some sort of cover to reduce the wind noise.
