Asus U6 adopts a special LED backlight panel that is half the width of and 1/3 lighter than the traditional LCD panel. Asus U6E features 12.1-inch LED display, Intel Core 2 Duo (2.2 GHz), 2 GB DDR II SDRAM, Microsoft Windows Vista Business and Mobile Intel GM965 Express Chipset. Whereas, U6S has 3.5G High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA).

“Overall, despite a few quirks, the U6S proves a better-than-average notebook with a unique look and several useful built-in features; it’s also relatively affordable too for an ultra-portable. Nonetheless, given the system’s weight and poor battery life, it’s not exactly what we’d call an ideal traveling companion…Pros: snazzy looks, decent performance, can log in using your face. Cons: poor battery life, a bit heavy, unresponsive touchpad buttons ”

“The 12.1″ WXGA (1280 x 800) LED backlit screen is nice. The LED backlit option saves on battery life and makes the screen look very clear. It gets bright, but the colors are kind of washy. By this I mean the colors aren’t bold and vivid, they almost look kind of pastel..It has good viewing angles, but I did notice toward the corners of the screen the color does fade out and it looks light, almost white in color. There is an HDMI port on the U6S, so if you want to hook up to a TV you can and the image quality is actually fairly good. ”

“The 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 is several notches above what’d we’d expect in a 12.1-inch ultraportable. Normally laptops this size are optimized for maximum battery life and are outfitted with weaker processors. Having a 2.2 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo provides more than enough juice for most productivity applications . While no processor is future-proof, the processing punch of the U6E should wane less than comparable models. ”
