Apple MacBook Air Reviews
Digital Trends reviews the Apple MacBook Air and writes;
“For standard desktop work the Air seemed plenty fast; in fact it felt a lot faster than what we typically see on a PC. Our personal notebook has 1.5GB of RAM, Windows XP and a 7,200rpm notebook drive, yet the Air “felt” faster opening programs, switching from one program to another, and never hung or had us waiting more than a few seconds. Just opening iTunes takes just a few seconds, which is twice as fast as on our burly gaming desktop PC…Highs: Amazingly light; snappy performance; lot of neat features. Lows: Non-removable battery; few expansion options; Remote Disc is flaky ”

PCworld reviews the Apple MacBook Air and writes;
“In our tests, the Air’s battery life averaged 2 hours, 31 minutes, which isn’t even enough juice to cover the flight time from San Francisco to Dallas, let alone get a road warrior clear across the continent with a powered laptop…While the MacBook Air clearly showed a performance advantage over other uber-lightweight notebooks, it’s important to note that it is only an average performer once you consider it against the greater field of ultraportables. ”

LaptopMag reviews the Apple MacBook Air and writes;
“We were impressed by the versatility of the multitouch trackpad. Zooming in on photos and Web pages by spreading two fingers apart was easy. And using three fingers at once and swiping them across the trackpad allowed us to scroll through items in Finder, Web pages in Safari, and images in iPhoto. Want to rotate a picture? Just move two fingers in the direction you want the image to go…The bottom line is that you forget you’re using an ultraportable with the MacBook Air, which is quite an achievement. ”

CNET Asia reviews the Apple MacBook Air and writes;
“The good: Incredibly thin yet surprisingly sturdy; new touchpad gesture controls are very useful; remote optical drive makes living without a built-in drive much easier. The bad: Very limited connectivity; slower than other MacBooks; SSD hard-drive option is ridiculously expensive and standard hard drive is small; battery is not replaceable. ”

Stuff.TV reviews the Apple MacBook Air and writes;
“The Air is 19.4mm at its thickest point, tapering down to an incredible 4mm at the front. Its outrageous profile isn’t obvious until you pick it up, when it feels like you’re just carrying a screen…Pros: Thin, light and gorgeous. Innovative wireless hijack of optical drives. Cons: No Ethernet or FireWire. Only one USB port. No optical drive ”

Crave reviews the Apple MacBook Air and writes;
“Also, the Air is faster than any physically comparable ultraportable, and probably offers better battery life when comparing the standard batteries. It doesn’t have the performance of a full-size notebook, but at 1.6 GHz or (for $300 more) 1.8 GHz, it’s plenty fast enough for Mac OS X or (if you prefer) Windows Vista.”

CNET reviews the Apple MacBook Air and writes;
“Getting a chance to use a test system, we were extremely pleased with the new multitouch track pad, which incorporates a range of gesture controls that will be familiar to iPhone users. It’s a smart move on Apple’s part; not only are the gestures easy to learn, but they’re difficult to forget.”
