I have had my iPod nano 3rd Gen. w/8G for three years now. It was VERY reliable until the timeframe between 2 1/2 years and 3 years, and it was then that the center button, the back/rewind button, and the play/pause buttons stopped working. For a while, the center button would work if I pressed REALLY REALLY hard, but now it just doesn't work at all. I tried to take it apart, and I unscrewed everything and tried to lift the center button and the clickwheel to try and reset the rubber things that so many people are telling me to move, but I can't get the clickwheel and the center button away from the colored-casing. I really need some help--music is my life, and I cannot afford a new one. I just need the center button, the play/pause button, and the back/rewind buttons to work.
Help would be very much appreciated.

I read your comment and it helped me to get my iPod working again. It has been stuck for days and I have not been able to figure it out and I couldn't find my manual. Thanks for your instructions! Now I have my music back :)

What a great iPod! This is the best I have seen yet! I run an online business called "iPod Ideas" at www.ipodideas.webs.com that supports hacking the iPod. This is the best video ipod I have ever used! I hack iPods for fun and this one is potentially harder to hack. I have only experienced 1 problem and it was from the firmware. Otherwise, congrats apple! You have found your bestseller!
