Click and hold the MENU and CENTRE button at the same time, when the iPod screen goes black quickly press and hold the CENTRE and REWIND button. You can change your iPod video settings there. To get out of the green diagnostic screen press and hold the MENU and CENTRE button again.

I just downloaded 493 songs to my ipod nano 3rd generation and as soon as it was done it said it was ok to disconnect. Well the bar went across and then is disconnected me from itunes and then the apple logo screen just keeps going off and on and i can't do anything. I have even tried resetting it, but nothing.

I have the iPod Nano 4GB model, its a very nice little music player, it lasts the whole day, and it does what I tell it to do. however, I prefer having my songs on repeat, hence why the playcount is 756 on "LinkinPark - Breaking The Habbit" but after a few times on repeat my iPod will freeze, every time I plug it into my computer it will freeze, I have heard a lot of people having the same problem and I would like to know if anyone knows of any type of bug fix. my iPod is upgraded to the latest software and everyday I synchronize it I will constantly check for an update and there still is no more fixes. if anyone at all knows of anything to resolve this then please reply to this. thankyou

Wow.
That's all I have to say.
I've owned the previous version of the iPod nano and I disliked the boring display and blocky body design. It also lacked Coverflow, a reasonable screen resolution, maybe a little color instead of just blue and white.
But the 3rd Gen. iPod nano caught my eye and I basically fell in love with it.
It's got a very bright screen, great for people who don't have the best of vision. But it can be bad for battery life. Secondly, the Coverflow feature is second from AMAZING. It keeps all my music organized in a very appealing way. MUCH better than going through a list of songs. So it's good if you have a TON of music like me. The iPod is kind of confusing if you've never had one before, so a lot of people claim it's "broken" when all it needs is to be reset. iTunes and the iPod also work perfectly in sync. It's easy to figure out how to sync the iPod and you've got loads of options with easy navigation. The Apple Customer Support line is very helpful as well if you've got any questions.
I would totally recommend this MP3 player over anything else. iPod > Zune

I've had this 8gb nano for a week before it decided to completely die on me. It won't reset, charge or even respond at all.

I really expected a better product from apple.

I have only had the nano 3rd generation for less than a month and it very often decides it wants to skip to the next track randomly, and sometimes it just won't play the song, even though it loads the song, it just won't play it. Kind of dissapointing since I can't just listen to 5 minutes of music without it skipping to the next track or just quitting all together
If you could help me out please email me dixon.tm@gmail.com
thanks

Peter Biddlecombe, maybe you should stick to vinyl mate.

Firstly, would I be right in saying that most classical music has been put on cd several times by different orchestras/artists etc over the years?

Do you really expect someone to catalogue all that?

What's so hard about just right clicking and then clicking 'get info' where you can edit all the details you want, including the ability to put two cds into one album.

I'm not defending apple here by any means since I have seen itunes do some pretty freaky stuff with my libary including putting all the tracks on one album back to front.

But at the end of the day, it's all editable.

Secondly, I don't know what the crap you are taling about when you say it's hard to find out which track is currently playing.

For a start, who cares????

You can find out what's next by simply waiting for the current track to finish or even just by press right on the wheel.

It may have been easier to find the track listing on with cds but then, who wants to carry a rucksack full of fecking cds around with them?

The nano is a great projuct, stop whining about every stupid little fault you think you've found.

My daughter received a 3rd generation ipod nano 8 gb for Christmas. It worked fine for a few days and now the video displays colors negatively. Looks somewhat like an infrared image. We tried resetting to the apple logo, hooking back up to the computer to reset to factory settings and the fix works momentarily. It reverts back to this reversed color scheme. Any help or insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
